DVC has its own guest house where you can stay. It is surrounded by water on all sides, the views of the setting sun from this place never get old. You can also walk around the dam in the evening to watch the sunset. If you have NH19, you can reach Maithon in 1 hr. 15 min, while GT road takes around 2 hours to reach the destination.
